3 weeks away! Last year when fundraising for Ora 3 weeks away!

Last year when fundraising for Orange County Justice Fund’s annual celebration, we were raising awareness for 11,000 OC residents facing deportation. One year later, and nearly 2,000 more OC community members are facing deportation, separation from family and community, and fear returning to a place they had the courage and reason to leave. The increase in OC immigrant families facing deportation, consequently, means there are more individuals defending against deportation without legal representation and contributes to the increase of individuals detained in immigration prisons in California within the year.

Faced with the daunting reality that over 5,000 individuals have been deported at the Santa Ana Immigration Court in less than two years of its establishment, OC Justice Fund’s mission is more important than ever.

OC Justice Fund works every day to improve, develop, and grow the programs and services we have capacity to offer to community members impacted by immigration enforcement policies.  With your support we can expand and sustain OC Justice Fund’s programs and services to reach more OC community members impacted by immigration enforcement policies. If you have not done so already, please considering supporting OCJF’s Annual Fundraiser by purchasing tickets, becoming a sponsor, or making a donation (link in bio!)

Thank you OCJF's 6th Annual Fundraiser Sponsors Trust Aarray, @pacific_lighthouse_insurance, @councilmemberkathleentreseder, @divorce_esquire, and @aitken.aitken.cohn ❤️

OC Justice Fund is pleased to share the news of AB 1306 passing both houses of California legislature, the bill is now headed to Governor Newsom’s desk to be signed into CA law.
With the support of OC Senators @davemin_ca @senator_umberg and @senatornewmanca the HOME Act will harmonize state policy with broadly-supported criminal justice laws, consistent with California’s values and Orange County values -if signed into law.
This is a major opportunity to take steps to protect our immigrant and refugee community members from the harms of ICE detention, but we know there is more work to be done to achieve justice for our immigrant and refugee community members at risk, and directly impacted by immigration enforcement policies.

Immigration policies are constantly evolving, mean Immigration policies are constantly evolving, meaning the needs of immigrant populations’ subjected to immigration policies fluctuates. For nearly two-months (May and June) requests for OCJF’s bond fund assistance were in low demand, but as policies shifted like the end of title 42, ICE’s implementation of CeBonds (Cash Electronic Bonds), and others resulted in more OC residents becoming detained and needing bond assistance to be freed from immigration prison. Since our last update in March 2023, OCJF has provided over $36,000 bond assistance to 6 community members who cannot afford the price of their bond set by ICE officials or immigration judges in exchange for their freedom.  You can read a bit about the individual’s freed from immigration detention in the post. OCJF is always looking to grow our bond fund to ensure financial support is accessible to community members all year long! If you have not already considered supporting OC’s only immigration bond fund, please consider donating today (link in bio)!
